A Rooftop with a Story

When Bettye Vaughen opened the doors to Villa Capri in 1956, she introduced Coronado to a touch of Hollywood glamour wrapped in effortless coastal ease. Set on the grounds of a former Japanese garden, the hotel quickly became a gathering place for visiting Angelenos and local neighbors alike. A place to linger, sip, and feel completely at home.

A neon diving girl welcomed guests at the entrance, a playful nod to the hotel's spirit and a quiet invitation to "just dive in." It was never about formality. It was about comfort, connection, and a sense of belonging.

That spirit lives on today
